Welcome to Handsworth Cricket Club Website
We have travelled a long way since the early days when people from the Caribbean in Birmingham sought a sense of belonging and association with others through cricket.
Handsworth is now a multi-ethnic area in which Caribbean people embrace Birmingham as their home and seek to develop and demonstrate their cultural prowess and communal cohesion through, among other things, their sporting capabilities.
For a cricketing community which cannot align itself in terms of facilities with other Clubs in many leagues, HCC has much to be proud. We are well regarded by the clubs we play and have experienced promotion into the Warwickshire Premiership in 2009 and then, in 2 season, another promotion into the Birmingham Park Cricket League.
It is therefore strongly recommended that, in the arena of sport, the only predominantly black led cricket club left in Birmingham must be robust, disciplined and committed to manage the Clubs affairs.
The purpose of HCC is to provide its members with the opportunity to contribute to and sustain cohesive through the development and promotion of cricket. In order to fulfil this goal, HCC seeks to work in partnership with all stakeholders, such as Birmingham City Council, Friends of Handsworth Park, Police and other institutions, organisations and networks to ensure high quality cricket is developed and continued in Handsworth Park and Birmingham as a whole.
